Lawyers for James ‘Whitey’ Bulger seek transcripts, evidence from prosecutors on April 15, 2012 released the following:

“By Travis Andersen

Lawyers for James “Whitey” Bulger are still seeking items from federal prosecutors to prepare for the gangster’s November trial on charges of racketeering and 19 murders, according to a court filing.

A hearing to discuss the status of the case is scheduled for Wednesday.

In a Friday filing, Bulger’s lawyers said they have not yet received all trial and plea transcripts from related cases and a preliminary list of evidence that prosecutors plan to use as exhibits, among other items. His lawyers have repeatedly complained that prosecutors turned over mountains of evidence in a disorganized fashion, making it difficult for defense counsel to prepare.”
